Replacement Unitary Development Plan (RUDP) for the Bradford District

5.3 Proposed Further Modifications July 2005

Guidance notes for the Submission of Representations on the Proposed Further Modifications

The Proposed Further Modifications

The Council is in the process of preparing a new Unitary Development Plan (UDP) to replace the Plan adopted in 1998. The new plan has progressed through several statutory stages of consultation and an inquiry was held into the objections made to the draft Plan in 2003. The Council has now received the report of the Inspector who presided over the inquiry.

The Council published the proposed modifications to the UDP in January 2005. The comments received were formally considered by the Council in June 2005 and a limited number of further modifications were proposed.

The documents can be inspected at the Council's main offices or on the UDP website.

What Can I Comment On?

At this stage it is ONLY possible to make representations on the proposed further modifications published by the Council. Representations CANNOT be made to the contents of the first or revised deposit Plan. This is a legal restriction contained within the Government's Development Plan Regulations which the Council must follow.

When Should Representations Be Made?

Representations should be made and received by the Council from Tuesday the 12th July 2005 and by no later than midnight on Monday 22nd August 2005.

Why should you use the representations form for objecting or supporting?

If you wish to make representations you must do so in writing. You are strongly recommended to use the representation form produced by the Council because it gives all the basic information necessary to explain your representation. It also helps us to process it efficiently through all stages of the plan making process. You can photocopy the representation form, download a copy from Bradford Council's website or obtain copies free of charge from the Council.

Using The Form

For each further modification on which you are commenting, please use a separate form and give your name and address on each one.

Section 1

Please give at least your name, address and, if appropriate, the name of the organisation you are representing. If you change your address please let us know as soon as possible.

Section 2

Please complete this section if you are using an agent (professional adviser). In these circumstances all correspondence from the Council will be sent to your agent. If you decide to employ an agent later or change your agent please let us know immediately.

Section 3

Please indicate whether you submitted representations at any of the previous formal stages of the UDP - the first deposit (June 2001), the Revised Deposit (July 2003), Pre Inquiry Changes (January 2003) or Proposed Modifications 2005.

Section 4

This sets out the ONLY types of representation which can be made. Only one box should be ticked.

Section 5
  • For representations made to modifications please indicate the Modification reference number - this can be found at the top of the left most column on the relevant page of the Council's further modifications document.
Section 6

Please explain as fully as possible your reasons or grounds for objecting or supporting.

Section 7

Please state clearly the changes to the modifications or decisions which you are seeking.

What will happen to your representation?

All representations will be made public as others may wish to submit contrary views. However, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998, any personal information you provide will only be used by the Council for the purpose of preparing the Replacement Unitary Development Plan.

All representations will be considered by the Council. We may contact you to ask for further information, or to clarify misunderstandings which will decide whether further modifications need to be made or whether to adopt the Plan without further change.
